It’s easy being Green

Contrary to Kermit The Frog’s take on things, it actually IS easy being green. With Earth Day right around the corner, please remember that the little things we don’t tend to think about can make huge differences in the long run.

Some simple green tips:

* Turn off lights when leaving the room for 15 minutes or more

* Use energy saving light bulbs that last for seven years or more

* Take advantage of natural light as much as possible to decrease the amount of electricity use

Research shows that computers in the business world waste roughly $1billion a year in electricity…

* When you leave work at the end of the day turn off both your computer and the power strips it’s plugged into

* Print on both sides of paper – or even use the back of old scrap paper, documents, etc .

* Avoid color printing when possible. Try buying chlorine-free paper, paper with a high percentage of post-consumer recycled materials, or a lighter stock of paper.

* Read and look over e-mails to decide whether it’s necessary for them to be printed. If not, don’t!

* Make it a habit to recycle as much as possible

* Keep on the look out for “greener” products and services.

Remember these easy and simple steps, if you haven’t done so already.
