Automate your marketing with Marketo

Are you marketing to your list of prospects as frequently as you should be?

We weren’t, until recently.

As you can imagine, we’re always looking for new technology tools that will help us grow our business without adding too much additional expense. We came across one recently that we’re really impressed with and thought we should share.

Marketo.com bills itself as a marketing automation tool that helps B2B marketing and sales drive revenue and improve accountability.

Translation: Marketo allows us to maximize our lead generation campaigns through the use of automated emails and landing pages. It also provides sophisticated list management and web analytics that allows us to get really granular about what message we are sending to which reader.

Everyone knows that email marketing is supposed to be a very affordable way of reaching an audience, but doing it well can be a difficult proposition. We weren’t taking advantage of the opportunity to do frequent email marketing for two reasons:

  1. List management was a pain – we couldn’t easily segment the lists we wanted to send to using our old tools, so it became very difficult to send messages tailored to niche portions of our list
  2. Creating attractive campaigns required to much outside help – anytime we wanted to send an attractive message it required the time and expense of an outside designer. Not practical.

Marketo solves both of these problems. Segmenting our list is now a breeze, and creating beautiful email messages and landing pages is very similar to creating a Power Point presentation – something we’re all very familiar with.

The net result is that we expect to increase our marketing activities many times over during the next year for very little cost – something every company should find attractive, especially during a tight economy.
