It is estimated that over 750 million people worldwide are on Facebook.  Now you can reach them in a Skype session and video chat with them.  The new feature is called Facebook Video Calling Powered by Skype.  You can down load the tool kit here: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/facebook/

 To log on to video chat all you have to do is set you Facebook chat status to “Online”.  From here you are ready to initiate a Facebook video call right from you chat bar.  You can also click on a friend’s profile, if they are also “Online” a “Call” button will appear at the top right of their profile page.  Perhaps the most interesting part is your Facebook inbox will now double as an answering machine, allowing you and your friends to leave video message as well.

So what does this mean for small business owners?  Well most businesses have a profile on Facebook these days too.  Now you can leverage this technology to reach your followers and expand sales and marketing strategies virally.  Want to announce a new product or service offering?  Email your followers in advance about an interactive call and invite them to join, as the Facebook Video Calling tool allows for multiple users.  Want to reach out to your best clients in a personal manner?  Send them a video message letting them know that you value their business.
